This book is a tribute to Susan Leney, who died aged 22 of a rare degenerative disease. She and her parents Les and Norah moved to Biddenden, Kent, in 1960 when Susan was nine years old. For years the Leneys believed their daughter was suffering from a complication caused by the mumps virus, until the truth, only half understood even at the time, emerged.
